As I have been listening to stories (including my own), I have discovered a common thread. There is ALWAYS a deep and beautiful layer of HOPE just waiting to be revealed!
So, out of that powerful discovery I have decided to share these stories right here on the Hope Layer Podcast!

This podcast is for the one who may not have the capacity to sit and read a blog. It is for the one who could use encouragement and the reminder that hope is not only an option,

but a REAL and TRUE gift!

27 - The state of the Restorable Retreat

After holding back for a whole year on pursuing this crazy idea of hosting a women's retreat that lands us at a junkyard, I finally said "yes" to God's gentle nudge to bring this safe space to a reality. 26 - What if you stopped?!

Bobbie thought God was leading her to receive time away at the Restorable Retreat so she could "work" on resting and self care stuff, but He had so much more for her! She left the Restorable retreat thinking that an 8 week break would do the trick, but was suprised to find out that God was actually calling her to a whole year of stopping EVERYTHING! And, now, after her "stop year" has passed, she is better than ever and shares here how the Restorable Retreat was her catalyst for healing. 25 - The voices in your head

A vulnerable and brave story of a woman's layered photography experience. With anxiety and curiousity, yet with surrender and openness, Michelle drove her NJ car into the Lancaster county farm pasture. She was unsure of what God would have for her but she chose to trust Him. She chose to fight the voices in her head that were her imprisonment of false beliefs. 24 - What if you feel "it"? Will "it" overtake you?

23 - Hope for our physical wellness

Rhonda hit rock bottom when she sensed God reminding her that she could ask for His help even with how she felt physically. And, that very month, things began to change for her. 22 -Aren't we all longing for love?

21 - Depression & anxiety - TO LIFE & HOPE!

When I met Jasmine I saw so much light and life in her eyes, so I was a bit surprised to learn of her storied past. Before Jasmine discovered love from the God of all Hope, she spent nearly 20 years running from herself. Her running didn't satisfy, and unfortunately, this path only led her to collide head-on with darkness, depression, and eventually mental hospitals when she was 33 years old. Now, 6 years later, in Jasmine's place of hope and life, she can look back and see how God used that dark valley to help her, literally, reach out her hand towards hope. 20 - Church.. its kinda like a junkyard

When we show up to a church, aren't we showing up because we recognize that we are broken and in need of a soul restorer? So, why then do we expect so much out of other broken ones who are also showing up for the same reason? Its kind of like a picture that I took in the junkyard.. a whole like of broken down ones, looking for someone to rescue them and care for them. 19 -Why "hope"??

Sometimes HOPE doesn't feel like it has a place in the broken parts of our story... right? Like, sometimes, some things really are too far gone. So, WHY am I convinced that HOPE is still a powerful part of your healing and recovery from that hard thing? Hard question... isn't it? 18 -What restores your soul?

The women at the retreat privately named their valley. We called it their “It”. “IT”... “It” was the thing that knocks them over, makes them angry, or brings tears to their eyes. “It” is the thing that can somehow have more power over our day and our choices. They were honest with themselves and with God while they sat safely on the couches and in their bedrooms at the retreat. Most of us wished that our hard thing wouldn’t even be real. We wanted it to go away, or if that couldn’t happen, we wanted to HURRY UP and get OVER it! BUT, when we looked at Psalm 23, we saw that the Shepherd didn’t snatch the sheep out of the valley. He didn’t even rush them along by making them run night and day until they “passed through it”. Rather, we noticed how the Shepherd encouraged the sheep to lie down in the very thick of it. (and I think… “no thank you, lets just keep moving and get past all of this da
