Welcome to my blog, a space for my "photo-therapy". I call it "layered photography", as I capture and share the deeper layers of our hearts and stories.
This space is for sharing those moments and stories that need a visual because sometimes, words aren't enough to describe the stuff that is so deep within our hearts. Putting words to our stuff, or naming those deeply layered things can be truly powerful and healing, but sometimes we need to see what we are attempting to tell our hearts.
And, that is what I do. That is what Layered Photography is! It is where I listen to your story (or communicate mine), and then I create a personal experience to capture pictures to help you (& me) see hope and true beauty!

These pictures and stories are deeply layered with meaning, story, and hope. The whole layered photography experience, and the sharing of it, often becomes a powerful tool that brings hope and healing to your heart and mine!
My hope is that you will be comforted with the comfort that we have received!
So, get cozy, grab your favorite drink, and take time to nurture your soul right here.

Letting go.. or saying "no" can be SO HARD ! We don't want to, we'd rather be awesome, all the time, in all the things! BUT... is that really working for you and your people? What do you need to steward (manage, maximize or multiply) better? Do you need to let go of something so that you may better steward something of more value… for a season?

I used to listen as he asked questions to various artisans. My dad was mesmerized as he learned how each one would create their piece of art. From painting, to jewelry, to cars, to wood & leather work, to knife forging... he had a respect for all of it. Dad would have loved to come along with me as I photographed this knife forger. He would've been so captivated.

There is just something about taking pen to paper. Something that I sure don’t understand, but know that there is even scientific evidence backing up that writing things down impacts your brain. So, this past winter I chose to write down Psalm 23. Left side of my journal - Psalm 23. Right page - my reflection. Everyday. I did this so that I might receive something deeper as I was preparing for the Restorable Retreat. And, then I decided to invite each of the retreat ladies to do the same and receive alongside with me. I chose that famous chapter in Psalms simply because of verse 4… “He restores my soul”.
